4 Stages of learning
Have you ever wondered why it becomes difficult sometimes, to understand a simple thing? It is because we often do not opt for the correct learning method and end up in frustration only. Today I am here to identify the four learning stages. If we understand them it can be quite easier to learn new things without ending up in frustration and anger.
1. UI= Unconscious Incompetence/ Don’t know what you don’t know:
UI is the first stage and it means that you do not know what you do not know. It is a form of blissful ignorance. Once you make mind to learn a new thing it this is the first stage that you face; where you come to know that you do not possess knowledge about what to know initially. Or in other words you realize very quickly that what you do not know!
2. CI= Conscience Incompetence/confusion:
This is the second stage of learning. At this stage your mind starts processing the new information in your brain. The new information is compared to the already present information in the brain. As a result you get confused. Now here it is important to point out that confusion is good in an ideal situation. But sometimes it may also result in generating frustration for some people. But it would always be better to stick with confusion as frustration can results in emotional and mentally thrown, where your thinking brain can shut off.
As you get confused you start asking questions and then you begin to put pieces together in some kind of order. And it is then; you enter the next stage of learning.
3. CC = Conscience competence/ask questions:
At this stage you become a competent learner. But you have to really concentrate to make it in a correct direction. It is now when you are concisely competent. And this eventually leads you to 4rth stage through practice.
4. UC= Unconscious competence/confidence, understand and apply:
In this stage all the information is fully integrated into your brain. It is now when you do not have to think about it if it is right or not. Your ability is now natural n unconscious, or what you can say is natural.
Best example, your car driving experience. In start, you face really difficulties to remember when gear need to change and keep remember car is in which gear. Checking through back and side minnors. Once you know how to drive you are driving along with calling over phone, change music and stuff...
